Privacy Policy

khnAI (DeepMind Systems) is a free budgeting app built for Armenia: receipt and shopping-list scanning, voice entry, Yerevan supermarket price comparison, cheapest-store routing and shared household finances. This policy explains what data we collect to make that work, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

We collect only what the app needs to function:

Account & household data — your name, email and the household you create or join, so expenses, goals and shopping lists can be shared with the people you invite.
Receipt and shopping-list photos — when you scan a receipt or a list, the image is processed to extract the store, date, line items, prices, discounts and the last digits of the payment card shown on the receipt (never a full card number). We do not process payments and never see your actual card credentials.
Voice input — when you use voice entry to fill in a transaction note or add items to Smart Basket, your speech is transcribed to text. Audio is used only to produce that transcription and is not kept once it has been converted to text.
Transaction and budget data — amounts, categories, goals, debts and recurring bills you enter or that are derived from a scanned receipt.
Location (optional) — if you enable store routing or the work-time/fuel calculators, we use your approximate location and vehicle details to estimate driving distance and whether a trip to a cheaper store is worth it. This is used at the time of the calculation; we do not track or store a history of your movements.
Contact-form submissions — name, email, optional phone number and message, if you write to us through the website.
Basic technical data — device and app diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable and secure (e.g. crash reports, coarse usage metrics).

3. How we use your data

To turn scanned receipts and lists into categorized expenses and shopping baskets.
To show live price comparisons across Yerevan supermarkets and route you to the cheapest option.
To keep shared household budgets, goals and debts in sync between the people you invite.
To send you reminders for recurring bills and progress toward your goals, where enabled.
To respond to support and contact-form requests.
To maintain the security, stability and performance of the app.

We do not use your data to serve ads — khnAI has none — and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Third-party processing

Some data is processed by service providers acting on our behalf, strictly to deliver the features above:

AI / OCR processing — receipt and shopping-list photos, and voice recordings, are sent to AI-powered processing services solely to extract text, items, prices and store details, or to transcribe speech. They are not used by us to build advertising profiles.
Google Maps — when you open turn-by-turn directions to a store, you are routed to Google Maps, which handles that navigation under its own privacy policy.
Infrastructure providers — hosting, storage and email-delivery providers that keep the app and website running.

We do not permit these providers to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and household data for as long as your account is active. Receipt and list photos are used to extract data and are retained only as long as needed for that purpose or for your own record-keeping inside the app; you can delete individual transactions, receipts or your entire account at any time from within the app or by writing to info@deepmindsystems.com. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Data sharing

We never sell your personal data. We share data only: with the household members you explicitly invite; with the service providers described in section 4, under confidentiality obligations; or where required by law.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures — such as encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

You can, at any time:

Access, correct or export the data associated with your account.
Delete individual entries, leave a household, or delete your account entirely.
Withdraw consent for optional features such as location-based routing or voice entry, by simply not using them.
Opt out of non-essential communications from us.

9. Children

khnAI is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, we will let you know in the app or on this website.
